Rising costs and shrinking wedding budgets have many brides looking for alternatives to traditional wedding vendors. The internet is filled with stories and advice about how to avoid overpaying or getting scammed by florists, photographers, and caterers. Virtually every type of wedding vendor has come under fire.
That’s why I was pleasantly surprised by an article I read today on Kansascity.com about a wedding planner who really “gets it” when it comes to working with brides.
“It’s about celebrating the blending of two families, not impressing people.”
This vision for the weddings and events she plans and her attention to detail has helped fuel her wedding planning hobby into a successful event planning business. It’s a great story, and one that many involved in the wedding industry should take note of, before they are viewing their wedding business in the rear view mirror.
I also have some thoughts about choosing a florist for your wedding. You can read them here.
