I rarely get excited when I see promotions from FTD, or any of the other national floral vendors. They are usually pretty much the same old “10% off” stuff that everyone does.
This one, on their Deck the Halls Holiday Ornament Bouquet, actually got me to click through and take a look. Probably because of the noticeably larger discount and it’s limited time availability.
It’s my understanding that they will be running a different holiday promotion each week in December, as well as an ongoing promotion on their Holiday Cheer Bouquet, that will be available until December 28th.
These deeply-discounted promotions are a big change for a nationwide floral vendor that relies on its network of local member florists to fill and hand-deliver these orders. In the past, promotional pricing or discounts on florist-delivered arrangements was at the discretion of local member florists.
FTD has decided to use its national marketing strength to bring these special discounts directly to the the consumer, rather than leaving it up to their member florists. While I personally feel that FTD’s move is interesting, I’m anxious to get some feedback from my colleagues who are FTD members.
What is means for you as consumer, is that you can get some of the biggest discounts on flowers that are hand-delivered by a local florist, that I can ever remember seeing. If flowers are on your gift list this holiday season, it’s definitely worth checking out.
