For many years, bridal fairs were the only way for couples planning their wedding to gather information from vendors in the area under one roof.
Today, with many interactive wedding web sites, online wedding directories, and social media web sites, couples can gather a lot of information about vendors without having to attend large bridal shows.
Many people have told me that they don’t attend bridal shows because they want to avoid the pressure of being “sold to”. And I understand that completely.
Personally, when I initially meet with couples to discuss wedding flowers, I like to meet with them one-to-one, find out their concerns, and answer any questions they might have. That way, we can both see if we’re a good fit for each other, before we move forward.
That’s why I’m excited about a different type of wedding event happening next week that will allow couples and vendors a chance to do just that. Let me tell you why…
A couple of months back, I met with Tanya Van Kirk, of Point Zero Event Planning, about a new bridal show concept her company was introducing in the Milwaukee area called the Wedding Mingler.
Billed as “a social event for the engaged set”, these minglers will be hosted monthly at some of Milwaukee’s most beautiful and trendy wedding venues.
There are several reasons why I think that you will benefit from attending a Wedding Mingler…
- You’ll have a chance to meet and talk to some of the Milwaukee area’s finest wedding vendors, one’s that don’t do the larger shows. Ask questions, pick their brains.
- You’ll get a chance to check out some of Milwaukee’s best wedding venues and sample their offerings
- You’ll meet liked-minded couples in a relaxed, social setting, that you can share wedding planning experiences and ideas with
- By sharing their expertise, the vendors who participate will build value and increase awareness of their company.
The first Wedding Mingler will be held on Wednesday, December 5th, at Hotel Metro, on the corner of Milwaukee and Mason Street in downtown Milwaukee. This free event is open to all brides, grooms, family, and friends.
If you are planning a wedding or event, check the Wedding Mingler out. Enjoy an evening out, and discover how wedding planning should be.
If you want more information, visit their web site ==>>Wedding Mingler,

I’m also curious to hear what your thoughts about this type of event, and whether or not you would attend. If you do go, I’d like to get your reaction as well. Feel free to post your comments below.
