One of the most popular cut flowers sold today is alstroemeria, and it’s easy to see why. It’s widely available, inexpensive, and lasts a week or more.

Our shop uses alstroemeria in floral arrangements of all types, from everyday arrangements and special occasions to sympathy and wedding designs.

You’ll want to watch these step-by-step video tutorials if you are looking for easy alstroemeria arrangement ideas.

In a few short minutes, you’ll come away with some inspiring ideas and gain insight into how the pros do it.

Alstroemeria Arrangement Ideas And Design Techniques You Can Use

Alstroemeria is a flower that’s fun and easy to work with. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

How Do You Arrange Alstroemeria Flowers

Before you begin, be sure your alstroemeria has been properly processed and hydrated. Once that’s done, you’re ready to begin arranging them.

This video will show you an easy arrangement idea that works great with alstroemeria but can also be used when arranging other flowers.

Add a few more stems if you want to make your arrangement fuller. That’s all there is to it. One other quick note – you can substitute a piece of waterproof ti leaf pattern ribbon instead of fresh aspidistra or ti leaves.

The second video shares a design technique called “spiraling” to create a lush bouquet with alstroemerias and tree fern. While not as quick and easy a method, knowing how to create bouquets using this technique is a fundamental design skill every floral designer should master.

It’s valuable because it can be applied when arranging many types of flower bouquets, and one I use in all the hand-tied bouquets I design for weddings. That’s the reason I decided to include it in this article.

You should employ this technique if you want your alstroemeria (or any other) arrangement to have a professionally-finished look.

Another easy alstroemeria arrangement idea is a topiary-style design. Alstroemeria stems are tied together and inserted as one stem into a container filled with floral foam. The floral foam can be covered with moss, greenery, or both and finished with single stems of alstroemeria or other flowers.

This idea is perfect for a wedding or any special event, but it can also be a great addition to your dining room table at home.

This quick photo tutorial will show you to turn your alstroemeria flower stems into a work of art.

What Flowers Go Well With Alstroemeria

With the variety of colors available, the beauty of alstroemeria is that they look great arranged in vases by themself. Alstroemeria also goes well with many different kinds of flowers in floral arrangements.

Roses are great with alstroemeria, as are lilies, peonies, tulips, hydrangeas, and daffodils. Other flowers that go well with alstroemeria include daisies, sunflowers, and irises.

With so many choices, why not experiment with your favorites?

How Long Do Alstroemeria Flowers Last In A Vase?

With proper care, alstroemeria should last around two weeks in a vase or container filled with floral foam. Some varieties may last longer, but these are rare.

If you want to extend the life of your flowers, keep them away from direct sunlight and heat. Also, avoid placing them near any drafts or air vents.

Maintain the water level and change it frequently ( every 2 to 3 days or if the water is cloudy).
