How To Care For Your Cyclamen Plant

During winter, a trendy indoor flowering plant is cyclamen. It seems folks can’t resist their beautiful flowers and lush foliage that add a splash of color to any space.

If you recently bought a cyclamen plant or received one as a gift, you might wonder about the best way to care for it.

This short video will show how easy it is to care for your cyclamen plant, even if you don’t have a green thumb.

4 Steps To Sucessful Cyclamen Care

  1. Cyclamen (cyclamen persicum) prefers moderately bright light (diffused sunlight). Placement near a sunny window is ideal.
  2. Moderately moist soil is preferred. Water thoroughly when the soil surface feels dry to the touch, and be sure not to let the plant stand in water.
  3. Cyclamen prefer moderate temperatures, 65-70°F (18-21°C) during the daytime and 50-60°F (15-18°C) at night. Keep out of excessively hot or cold areas.
  4. A complete houseplant fertilizer for cyclamen is recommended, like a 10-10-10 or 20-20-20. Fertilize every 3-4 weeks.

If you’re looking for more in-depth information on the steps you should be taking to get your cyclamen to re-bloom, be sure to check out this helpful article.

Although it’s a bit of work (but, in my opinion, not as much as with poinsettias), you should be able to have your cyclamen re-bloom again next year.

Thanks For Hanging In There With Me

If this is your first visit here, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Greg Johnson, and I am the guy who created FlowersFloralFlorist.com. I’ve put this site together to share a bunch of informative floral-related videos I’ve curated from my colleagues in the floral industry.

But to start on the right foot, I’ve got something important I need to say. Admittedly, the main reason this site exists is a selfish one.

You see, I tend to check out many flower and plant videos (like the cyclamen care vid you just finished watching), and a site I could comment on and share my favorite videos is what I wanted.

I also believe that opportunity abounds online, which was another motivating factor. I want to be transparent here.

Even though I love sharing great content, I also enjoy earning sponsorship revenues and affiliate commissions. Hopefully, you don’t see anything wrong with that.

The point is this site does provide me with a small income. With that said, I’m not here to sell anything.

If you see a product on this site that you think will help you, that’d be great! But if this isn’t the case, absolutely no problem.

If you appreciate that, be sure to keep coming back! I’m going to keep sharing informative videos about weddings, flowers, home decor… and so much more.
