One thing to note is that many floral designers caution that before inserting the stems into the cake, make sure the flowers you use are edible flowers, flowers that aren’t sprayed with chemicals.
If that’s not possible, you can use water tubes, or you can wrap the stems with floral tape or plastic cling wrap and use cut straws to insert the stems.
Since most cake styling requires only a few top-quality flowers, I always suggest purchasing them from a local florist. Most florists have access to pesticide-free flowers but generally require advance orders.

One quick tip, if I may. If you are using silk flowers, I always suggest staying with higher-quality ones whenever possible. Adding a touch of fresh greenery will help keep your design looking more lifelike.
