Decorating With Flowers – Simple And Affordable Ideas You Can Try

By now, everyone knows that flowers can make a house feel more homey and welcoming. However, most people don’t know where to begin when it comes to choosing and using fresh flowers in their home.

I know a lot of you love entertaining family and friends. If you’re looking for simple and budget-friendly ways to decorate with flowers, you’re in luck!

This short video clip will give you a few simple ideas to get you started… ideas that will give you a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to decorating with flowers.

Simple Vases For Flower Arrangements

There are lots of things around our homes that make perfect containers for floral arrangements.

Start by rounding up things around your house that can hold water. As long as they don’t leak, they’ll work.

As you’ll see, it’s not too hard to come up with an interesting container or two to use as a vase for floral arrangements.

Keep in mind that the containers you use don’t have to match, either.

Mismatched items look great when they are grouped together. You can tie them together by using one or two similar flower varieties or colors.

If you want to make a larger arrangement, old watering cans, ceramic pitchers, kettles and tea pots are great containers for that purpose and will add an element of surprise and a pop of color to any space.

Champagne flutes or wine glasses with a single flower in each will turn any dinner into an elegant occasion.

Soda bottles, wine bottles, mason jars, colored glass bottles, or any type of simple glass vases are great for a more casual affair. Try clustering them on a coffee table, dining table, kitchen counter, or buffet cabinet with flowers in each. Highlight them with a few votive candles.

And don’t waste those broken flower heads! Shallow bowls and dishes are perfect for floating broken blooms. Try adding floating candles for a shimmering effect.

Once you know what container types you have to work with, the rest is easy. Just add flowers!

Remember, floral arrangements don’t have to be perfect. So don’t overthink it.

Just be creative and have some fun!

  1. I love the idea of using glasses for vases or flower vessels. They look so casual but formal at the same time…can’t explain it perfectly.
