Decorating With Flowers – Simple Ideas That Won’t Break The Bank

When decorating with flowers, be creative. I know that it’s easier said than done, but once you start, you’ll discover the possibilities are endless.

I know a lot of you love entertaining family and friends. Here are a few simple ways to use flowers around the house.

And these ideas aren’t expensive, either.

Start by collecting all the things around your house that can hold water. This short video clip will give you a few ideas to get you started…

So, what do you think?

As you can see, it’s not too hard to come up with an interesting container or two.

You really do have lots of options – most of which you probably already have around the house. Keep in mind that the containers you use don’t have to match, either.

Mismatched items look great when they are grouped together. You can tie them together by using one or two similar flower varieties.

If you want to make a larger arrangement, old watering cans, ceramic pitchers, kettles and tea pots are great containers for that purpose and will add an element of surprise.

Champagne flutes or wine glasses with a single bloom in each will turn any dinner into an elegant occasion.

Soda bottles, wine bottles, mason jars or colored glass bottles are great for a more casual affair. Try clustering them on a coffee table or buffet cabinet with flowers in each. Highlight them with a few votive candles.

Shallow bowls and dishes are perfect for floating flower heads. Try adding floating candles for a shimmering effect.

Once you know what you have to work with, the rest is easy. Just add flowers!

When it comes to decorating with flowers, don’t overthink things. This is a mistake I see DIYers make all the time.

Your idea or any arrangement you make doesn’t have to be perfect. There is no right or wrong way to use flowers.

Well, there is one. Not decorating with flowers at all. 🙂

  1. I love the idea of using glasses for vases or flower vessels. They look so casual but formal at the same time…can’t explain it perfectly.
