Ordering Flowers Early For Valentine’s Day: Why It’s Important

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, you will hear florists advising you to “Order Flowers Early!” Here are a few facts and figures that show why you should heed their advice.

According to a recent survey conducted by the Society of American Florists and the National Retail Federation:

  • An estimated 250 million roses are produced for Valentine’s Day.
  • Valentine’s Day is the No. 1 holiday for florists, accounting for 30% of all holiday floral transactions for the year.
  • Roses are the most-purchased flower for Valentine’s Day, with 69% of those purchased being red.
  • In 2022, U.S. consumers spent an estimated $23.9 billion on Valentine’s Day, including the cost of flowers, greeting cards, candy, an evening out, and jewelry.

As you can see, the demand for fresh flowers for Valentine’s Day is huge. It’s always an exceptionally busy time for florists, especially when the holiday falls during the work week.

3 Reasons To Order Early

To ensure your special someone receives a beautiful bouquet of flowers on Valentine’s Day, it’s important to place your order early. Here are three reasons why ordering flowers early should be a part of your Valentine’s Day plan:

First, ordering flowers early ensures that your order will be fulfilled. At our shop, priority flower delivery is always given to early orders. Because of the large number of orders, same-day delivery is not an option for many florists on Valentine’s Day

Flower shops, including ours, experience a huge influx of orders during the last few days leading up to Valentine’s Day.

By ordering in advance, you can avoid the risk of your order not being able to be filled and delivered because the shop has already sold out of its inventory.

Second, ordering early allows you to secure the best selection and type of flower you want. Flower shops, including ours, often have a limited selection of certain types of flowers on Valentine’s Day, and the best blooms can sell out quickly.

Ordering in advance gives you access to the widest variety of flowers. I can’t remember a year when we did not sell out of red roses on Valentine’s Day.

Third, ordering early gives you peace of mind. With your order already placed, you can focus on other aspects of your Valentine’s Day celebration, knowing that your order will be taken care of as requested and delivered promptly.

So considering all of these factors, my advice is simple. To avoid disappointment on Valentine’s Day – “Order flowers early!”

The #1 Reason To Order Your Valentine Flowers Early

The biggest reason you should consider placing your Valentine’s day orders now is to take advantage of all the early-order flower deals and discounts available online or from your local florist. After all, saving money on a romantic gift of flowers is never bad, especially with inflation today.

Ordering flowers early is the best way to ensure that Valentine’s Day will be perfect for your special someone. With a little planning and forethought, you can ensure your Valentine receives a beautiful bouquet of lovely blooms, not just a last-minute gift.
